Eyelid Surgery – Get The New Look
Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is performed on the upper and lower lids to eliminate excess skin and bagging under the eyes. Our Long Island office often performs this procedure in tandem with other facial procedures such as a facelift or nose surgery. Blepharoplasty gets rid of tired-looking eyes and results in a more youthful, open appearance.
Reasons to Consider Eylid Surgery
- Bags under the eyes.
- Excessive skin on upper eyelids.
- A tired appearance or puffiness due to inherited factors.
General Procedure
Tiny incisions are made in the natural contours around the eyes, which should leave no visible scarring. The surgeon will remove fatty tissue and tighten loose skin on the upper lid. Lower lids are treated to eliminate puffiness.
In some cases, laser technology may be used to smooth lower eyelid areas. Additional techniques may include Botox(R) injections to further reduce wrinkles.
Surgery usually takes less than 2 hours and is performed on an outpatient basis. If additional cosmetic procedures are being performed, additional time will be required.
